I wanted this beat to feel like something straight out of a Travis Scott record. Dark, full of switch ups, and with that big atmospheric energy that pulls you in. I built out the melodies and layers first, but the thing that really tied it all together was the Kits AI Text-to-Vocal Generator for beatmaking.

Instead of digging through endless sample packs or worrying about clearances, I was able to type in a phrase and get exactly what I needed, in key, ready to drop into the track. The workflow was instant and the vocals gave the beat the human touch it needed to feel complete.

Laying the Foundation

Before I even touched the vocals, I needed a strong backbone for the track. I started with three main sections:

  • A dark brass intro to set the mood

  • A wavy pre-hook with woodwinds and bass for depth

  • A hard drop melody to bring the impact

For the brass, I pulled up Session Horns in the TP-1/TB preset and then stacked it with gypsy trumpet, trombone, tuba, and clarinet. Layering like this is what makes the section feel alive instead of flat. I let the bass follow the brass rhythm and added multiple layers for extra weight, making sure to EQ them so everything sat clean in the mix.

I filled things out with a few background leads to glue the sections together, then added some heavy reverb on the drums, a couple of transitions, and a chopped violin phrase. That gave the track some movement and kept everything feeling cohesive.

From there, I smoothed it into the wavy pre-hook by carrying over a stripped-down version of the bass pattern, the ear candy layer, and a few rim shots washed in reverb. That gave me a solid foundation to build on, but I still needed a human element to really pull the listener in and make the track feel alive.

Why I Used the Text-to-Vocal Generator

The Text-to-Vocal Generator works like an instant vocal sample machine. Type in a short phrase, pick a voice, lock in the key, and you’ve got a custom vocal ready in seconds.

What makes it even better is that Kits AI's vocal models are all built from licensed datasets, giving you two options to work with. You can use royalty free voices that are cleared for commercial use right out of the box, or you can choose from community voices where the artists themselves get paid when their voice is used. Either way, you never have to worry about clearance, which keeps the workflow fast and stress free when you’re in a creative zone.

For this beat, I was chasing eerie, atmospheric phrases to match the Travis Scott vibe. A few things helped me get there:

  • I kept reverb off so I could shape the space with my own effects later

  • Turned pitch correction on to keep everything locked to the key

  • Locked the track into B minor to sit with the rest of the arrangement

  • I ran a bunch of takes, picked out the ones that hit the vibe the best, and ended up with a set of vocal chops that felt custom made for the track.Played around with the style knob at 10%, 24%, and 42% to get different textures and keep the phrases from sounding repetitive

Integrating the Vocals

Once I had the takes I liked, I dropped them into FL Studio and started shaping them with a simple chain:

  • Tweaked the pitch so everything locked in with the track

  • Used formant shifting to push some takes way up and down for extra character

  • Added reverb to give the vocals space

  • Threw on some chorus to widen things out

  • Used filtering for movement and dynamics

  • Finished with a little EQ so the chops sat clean in the mix

Shaping the Atmosphere

The vocals ended up shaping the whole arrangement. I left room for them to breathe and then built extra layers around their tone.

I added environmental sounds like sirens, rain, and even distant dog barks to set up a cinematic scene before the drop. A few impact effects on top pushed the drama further and made the beat feel like more than just an instrumental.

Final Instrumentation

I carried the vocals and lead into the drop, then used a multikey from Analog Lab Pro to build a new melody that brought in a fresh change of energy. To add some extra texture, I layered in a little ear candy from FREQ-2.

I kept the drums simple so the atmosphere stayed front and center. Deep low hi-hats set the pace, two contrasting snares added variety, open hats gave it movement, and a tight 808 sat with the kick to hold down the low end.

Key Takeaways

Beatmaking is the core of work as a music producer, and the Text-to-Vocal Generator turned this beat from a solid instrumental into something that feels like a finished record.

  • I was able to create vocals in seconds that matched the key and vibe of the track

  • Every phrase was safe to release commercially since the voices are trained on licensed data

  • The vocals pushed the arrangement in new directions and gave me fresh ideas along the way

For producers working in vocal-heavy genres, this beatmaking tool cuts out the sample hunt and lets you stay creative. It saves time, adds polish, and makes the process way more fun.
